About…

Alicia is a holistic movement coach with an extensive background in all things movement. As a child she began her own movement practice in dance and gymnastics and quickly gravitated towards team sports. She played basketball and soccer in high school and college; dabbling in softball, track, volleyball, and swimming.  Getting stronger for these sports began in high school with a 5 am weight lifting crew of dedicated high school athletes.

It only took one anatomy and physiology class to spark a passion for the human body that would take her into movement spaces devoted to yoga, animal flow, weight training, endurance training, mountaineering, and cycling.  It wasn’t until Alicia was exposed to MovNat and then Evolve Move Play that her passion for the human body and the natural world merged. The gym, no longer being rich enough to spark curiosity and joy, she learned to interact with the natural world and connect deeply with the more than human beings.

Alicia offers one on one and group experiences guided by the natural cycles of our environment. Her intention is to give you the tool for autonomy so that you can be grounded in practices that keep stress managed and allow the body and mind to thrive

What to expect:

Alicia will show you how to tap into your body's wisdom through your senses. Learn to come into deep reverence for your body and the natural environment we live in and with.

Through simple and easy to implement practices, you will gain the tools to give yourself the autonomy to align your energy not only with the world around you seasonally, but to the waves that life rolls into our lives. You will learn to regulate your nervous system with breath and deep connection to the natural world.

We will also develop a practice using ancient tools to tap into our inner warriors , taking an intentional stand for the health and well being in our bodies.

Most importantly, the client and coach collaborate to form realistic goals that can include but are not limited to… 

  • Stress reduction through nature connection, the metabolism of cortisol through movement, breath and meditation practice. 

  • Nourishing the body through seasonal energy alignment, seasonal eating, eating for energy and vitality.

  • Nervous system regulation through breath-work, somatic inquiry, and embodiment practice.

  • You will also establish and strengthen neural pathways through our movement practice, breath and meditation practices. 

 
 
 
 

What a movement session looks like:

  • Each session will start with a self inquiry and check-in. Whatever your state of being when you enter the studio (in-person or virtually) you will be coached into a rest and restore state with the use of your breath.

  • Prime your neural pathways with mobility and breath practices that ready your body for the condition practice to follow. 

  • Conditioning rounds are designed to focus on specific aspects of functional human movement. This coupled with specific breathing techniques ensures your nervous system doesn’t stay in a heightened state but rather we practice regulating the nervous system with powerful breath exercises. 

  • The conditioning aspect falls off as we combine conditioning movements into a more complex pattern to allow us the opportunity to step into flow.

  • The session ends with a deep down regulation of the nervous system and seeding for the day and week ahead.

Each session will be highly personalized to the individual and to the group.  You will be coached through each and every step so that you can learn these practices in and out. This ultimately, will give you the autonomy to manage your energy and vitality. 

Disclosure: You are your own greatest teacher. All that you need to thrive is right inside that beautiful body of yours. All you have to do is tune in to your body’s wisdom and let it be your guide. Alicia will coach you and guide you safely through your practices with full knowing that you will always know your body better than anyone. How you feel and what you need in any given practice is the highest priority.
